August is National Black Business Month, and we would like to recognize all of our Black-owned businesses and partners by saying thank you for all of your hard work and making a difference in your local communities.
This month traces its history back to 2004, when Frederick E. Jordan, an engineering entrepreneur, teamed up with John William Templeton, president and executive editor of eAccess Corp - a scholarly publishing company.
According to BlackEnterprise, Jordan felt compelled to highlight and uplift Black business owners like himself after reflecting on the challenges he faced as a new business owner.
Wish believes in empowering small businesses around the world. That’s why we started our Wish Wholesale program. We want to help small businesses thrive and grow by making high-quality, top-selling products accessible to everyone - not just the big corporations making millions every year.
Black-owned small businesses have long faced hardship due to systemic racism. In an effort to help do our part to respond to the inequity, Wish has launched the Wish Local Empowerment Program, a $2 million dollar fund dedicated to support underrepresented entrepreneurs.
In honor of Black Business Month, we would like to extend our offer to join the Wish Local Empowerment program, which gives Black-owned small business partners financial support. Utilize the funds to keep or bring employees back on board, connect with new customers, or pay for operational costs.
